We are seeing a number of systems come in with a new version of the FBI/MoneyPak virus. Make sure your system is up to date (Java, Flash, Adobe Reader), don't click buttons in popup windows you didn't expect (even if they say cancel), and consider using the Google Chrome web browser, which has some additional security features to avoid infections via Java or Adobe products. Tired of having to constantly update stuff and ensure your system is secure? Sign up for My ITXpert and let us take the worry out of using your PC! http://www.myitxpert.biz/

If all your kids (or parents) do is use the web browser on your computer, a ChromeBook (or ChromeBox) is so much better than Windows. No real worries about viruses. Clean, simple, and easy to use interface (especially if you use Google Chrome already), and relatively inexpensive. This particular model is NOT super fast. But a solid state drive will make it quicker and for $200… Almost disposable. We may get a demo unit in here at IT Xpress soon…

One thing about PCs – most of them are ugly as sin. They deserve to be hidden under the desk. It's nice to see some companies working to design attractive cases that are also functional. Would you want a PC that looked like this on your desk? Here at IT Xpress we can build any system to your specifications… Just ask!

This review is absolutely right. Google Keep is a great little tool for taking notes. But it is NOT Evernote (which we use heavily here at IT Xpress). But it's FAST and very easy to use. When we write up service logs on site with clients, we use Evernote. But when we do a site assessment, we use Google Keep now – taking notes, video, and pictures to quickly catalog a job's requirement. Give it a look if you haven't.
Not Just Another Notes App: Why You Should Use Google Keep
lifehac.kr
When Google Keep launched, it never got the fanfare it deserved. The people that did review it compared it to all the wrong apps, like Evernote or Microsoft OneNote. That's a shame, because a surprisingly good note taking app went under the radar, underrated for coming up short against contenders it…

Downloading free software can be a challenge these days as more ads throw in big 'DOWNLOAD" buttons that really download malware, spyware, or other junkware. Using Ad Block Plus or similar can help. Also check with reputable download sites like filehippo.com or SourceForge first to get your free software fix.

One of the best things about the Chrome web browser are the many apps you can utilize that don't clog up your display and can run in the background even if your browser it closed. My favorites are Adblock Plus, Checker Plus for GMail and Google Calendar, WOT, Awesome Screenshot, goo.gl URL Shortener, Chrome Remote Desktop (AMAZING), Pocket, Honey, Priceblink, and Rapportive.

The Chrome app store has seen a lot of improvements lately, but a lot of the apps that work inside Google Chrome still go under the radar. With that in mind, here are a few of our favorites you might not have seen yet.
